Prime timers

Meet Like-minded mature men

New York Prime Timers is a social organization for gay and bisexual men over 40 years of age and for younger adult men who appreciate them.

New York Prime Timers hosts events each month where mature men and their friends can come together for various social activities - luncheons, concerts, theatrical events, art events, movies, museums, clothing-optional parties, and more. There is always a variety of events on our calendar where members can meet and mingle with mature gay and bisexual men.

Prime Timers at the Center

Happy new year, Prime Timers!

Due to the risk of increased contagion, New York Prime Timers has suspended all in-person activities for the winter months. Hang in there, we will be back soon. Best wishes for 2022!

New York Prime Timers' Second Saturday series will continue at the LGBT Community Center on Saturday, November 13, from 2 to 4  p.m. Photographer and tour guide Efrain Gonzalez will present on "New York's Gay Underground." Efrain will speak and show photographs he took in the 1970s and 1980s that illustrate a history of gay men gravitating to New York City's Meatpacking District to celebrate their uncommon lives.

As usual, we will end with a "meet-and-greet" for our members to socialize. Afterwards, several members will continue the gathering at a nearby diner.

Our social events at the Center happen on the second Saturday of each month at 2 p.m. Your financial contribution will help us pay the rental cost of the room. We suggest a minimum contribution of $3 for members and $5 for non-members.

The Center is handicap accessible and is conveniently located near public transportation at 208 West 13th Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, in Manhattan.

Please also note the following.

  • The Center mandates that masks be worn at all times throughout the building.

  • The Center will not be checking temperature or conducting a health survey.

  • The Center is not requiring proof of vaccination for entry into the building.

While the Center is not asking for proof of vaccination, New York Prime Timers will be extra cautious for our initial indoor gatherings. We will ask you to present your proof of vaccination.

New York Prime Timers at the Cabaret

In 2019, cabaret singer Sidney Myer visited New York Prime Timers and gave a wonderful presentation on the history of nightclubs in New York City.

Sidney will perform at the Pangea nightclub in the East Village on four Monday evenings in November. Our own Peter S. is Sidney's stage director.

The first two Mondays sold out, so members of New York Prime Timers are invited to purchase tickets for the third or fourth nights, November 22 or 29. The cover charge at Pangea is $20 online in advance or $25 cash at the door. The restaurant also charges an additional $20 minimum per person for food and/or drink. (Peter assures us that the food at Pangea is "quite good.")

Like all other indoor entertainment venues in New York City, proof of vaccination will be required for entry. Because the venue sells tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, we cannot guarantee that all New York Prime Timers will sit at the same table. For details, visit Pangea's website by clicking here.

New York Prime Timers' Luncheons, Cultural Outings & Clothing-Optional Parties

New York Prime Timers will resume monthly luncheons, cultural outings to concerts and museums, and clothing-optional parties in the spring of 2022. Become a member for more complete details.
