AT THE lgbt Community center
Meet our members and enjoy our varied programs. New York Prime Timers hosts a Second Saturdays for older gay and bisexual men and their friends and admirers at the LGBT Community Center on the second Saturday of each month at 2 p.m. The gatherings may host a presentation by a speaker, a seasonal theme or a topical event, and always end with a "meet-and-greet" for our members to socialize. Your financial contribution will help us pay the rental cost of the room; we suggest a minimum contribution of $3 for members and $5 for non-members.
The LGBT Community Center is handicap accessible and is conveniently located near public transportation at 208 West 13th Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, in Manhattan.
New York Prime Timers' Second Saturday series will continue at the LGBT Community Center on Saturday, November 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. Photographer and tour guide Efrain Gonzalez will present on "New York's Gay Underground." Efrain will speak and show photographs he took in the 1970s and 1980s that illustrate a history of gay men gravitating to New York City's Meatpacking District to celebrate their uncommon lives.
As usual, we will end with a "meet-and-greet" for our members to socialize. Afterwards, members will be invited to continue the gathering at a nearby diner.
Please also note the following.
The Center mandates that masks be worn at all times throughout the building.
The Center will not be checking temperature or conducting a health survey.
The Center is not requiring proof of vaccination for entry into the building.
While the Center is not asking for proof of vaccination, New York Prime Timers will be extra cautious for our initial indoor gatherings. We will ask you to present your proof of vaccination.
