Prime Timers in the Park
Our first Prime Timers in the Park reunion went so well in August that we are itching for an encore. Weather permitting, New York Prime Timers will host an informal gathering for gay and bisexual mature men and their admirers at Washington Square Park next Sunday, September 20, at 4 p.m.
We will have no guest speakers and no food service, so just enjoy meeting new NYPT members, hanging with each other, and shooting the breeze in the cool late summer breeze. Enter the park at Washington Square West and Washington Place, and we will take over as many benches as we need in the shady area near the entrance.
The closest subway station is West 4th Street on the A, B, C, D, E, or F trains; the exit on 3rd Street has the advantage of an elevator and will leave you closer to our destination than the 8th Street exit. Also in the vicinity, the 1 train to Christopher Street and the N, R and W trains to 8th Street would leave you with a bit of walking distance.
Please note that the NYC Parks Department asks that all visitors wear face coverings and remain six feet apart. Please wear a face mask at all times except when eating or drinking, maintain a reasonable distance from one another, and respect that some of us are not yet ready for body contact like handshakes, kisses and hugs.
New York Prime Timers Second Saturdays/Luncheons/Outings/Parties
The LGBT Community Center remains closed and has not yet announced an opening date. Once the Center reopens, New York Prime Timers will resume its Second Saturday series with its general membership meet and greet.
The New York Prime Timers luncheons, cultural outings, and clothing-optional hotel parties remain on hiatus and will resume on a monthly basis when it seems safe to do so.
We are collecting ideas for safe gatherings during this time. E-mail us your ideas!
